How To Use Thanksgiving Leftovers

Thanksgiving is one of my all time favorite holidays. Maybe that’s just because I love food so much or maybe because I love the tradition of everyone gathering together orrr maybe its because I know its the start to a serious shopping season. Who knows, but its my favorite.

Since this year I will be cooking again for the third year I’ve been thinking about something different to do with the left overs from the big day. Remember the post I did about Thanksgiving prep? Well, with this recipe it doesn’t really matter how if you buy or make your sides. You can still do this no either way!

Yesterday I was chatting with my mom about the blog and she was asking all sorts of questions and mentioned my post on Thanksgiving prep. She wanted to know why I never shared my Turkey story with you in that post. I just looked at her oddly and she said “It was a funny thing”.

Well…Here’s the thing, I can cook and Im pretty sure I am actually good at cooking when I do decide I want to cook. The first year I held Thanksgiving at our house I had everything done. I made all the side dishes, pies, and cooked that turkey right up. I was pretty proud of myself right? Sure was. Well..My husband thought he would check the turkey not even knowing what he was doing and said it didn’t look right.

It was fine! I swear. I followed the directions and kept insisting it was fine. Eventually after tons of nagging on his part that it didn’t look right I called my mom and told her she needed to come over right now and check this darn turkey and tell him it was fine.

She arrived and told us it was fine but I had put it in upside down. Fast forward to the time to carve the turkey and you know what happened? Have you ever watched Christmas Vacation? You know, the part where they carve the turkey and it just deflates? Yup, that is exactly what happened. So now every single time I cook a turkey my husband makes me watch that clip. That thanksgiving he played that clip over and over and over again.

Needless to say, I do cook the turkey but now I make my mom come over and actually get the turkey ready to be cooked hoping I don’t have to watch that darn clip again!! I mean I can laugh about it now but at the time I was so upset that I ruined my first Turkey. So, its ok if you are giggling to yourself right now. I mean can you just imagine??

Anyways, this year I’m bound and determined to get it right. Third times a charm right?! Since we are leaving for Disney right after Thanksgiving and I don’t want to grocery shop for extra food I plan on using up all the leftovers pretty quickly. My sweet friend Amanda told me about doing this. I tried it out and have to say it tastes pretty amazing!

While you are getting all your groceries for the holiday grab yourself some extra crescent rolls. The day after or maybe even on Thanksgiving night when you are ready for the second meal before you head out shopping (if you are like me I love Black Friday shopping, more on that at a different time).

This is super easy. Take those crescent rolls, unroll them and break them apart. Now, you can add what you want to these. I make them a couple ways since my kids each like different things.

Gather your leftover stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, turkey, and if you want to add squash grab that too!

Once you have them unrolled and ready to go add a small spoonful of mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and turkey. Roll them up and put them on your baking pan. I make them into a pretty circle.

Bake them at 375 for about 10-12 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. Let cool for a few minutes. You can eat these just like this or you can dip them in gravy!!

My kids actually loved these and said “They taste like Thanksgiving”. Win!! I love these and so do my kids.

If you are wondering what baking pan I used that what in a circle form, well my sweet friend Amanda converted my to a Pampered Chef lover. I had never ever been to a party or even owned a single item from Pampered Chef. This was my first purchase and let me tell you if you do not have one of these you need to go order yourself one now! This Rockcrok Grill Stone is THE best thing I have ever bought. Not only do you use this in the oven but you can use it in the microwave, on the grill, or over an outside fire. I can’t tell you how many times I used this on the grill this past summer. I actually made French toast and fried eggs ON THE GRILL!!

You have to add this to your wish list. I’m telling you it is absolutely worth every single penny! Of course after I fell in love with this I had to have a party right? You don’t have to have a party you can just order. You should really check out Amanda’s link, she’s pretty amazing and shares so much goodness. I’ve definitely been converted! If you need any help or have questions she’s always ready and willing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve reached out and been like “heeeelllpppp”. Seriously, she’s awesome so go bet this Grill stone! If you want to email her you can reach her at amandalandsman@gmail.com

Guys, have you subscribed yet!! Don’t be scared to comment, like, or share a post! I’m really enjoying sharing with you but I’d love to know what you would like to see more of!  Let me know and get ready some Black Friday shopping guides coming your way <3
