The Beginners Guide To Getting Organized
- As mom’s we know how important it is to stay organized.
- As a full time working mom myself I know just how important it is to stay organized. I have to keep track of my own busy day on top of keeping track of my kids busy days. I swear keeping track of my kids schedules is a full time job in itself! I get home from work and its a mad rush to plan dinner (if we have time) and get two kids here there and everywhere for their activities. Seriously, why do I do this to myself?! Why do you do it to yourself? You know why? We love our kids and we want them to be happy and to do the things that they love. Thats why!
What is Organization?
- I won’t bore you with the dictionary definition…
- Basically, organization is coordinating all the daily tasks, to do’s, and managerial functions of a household. Yes, I’m looking at you moms! Most of the time we are the ones being a walking planner for our families. We keep track and dictate (I can’t be the only dictator here hehe 😉 ) to our kids and husbands what needs to be done each day and where everyone needs to be. We have to make the plans for everything! Planning. Read that again. Planning! Thats what we do. That is organization.
How to get started with your organization.
- You need to get yourself a planner that works best for you. I recently switched to this Erin Condren Planner. This planner is not only useful for keeping track of my families schedule but also my work schedule. It’s been a life saver for sure!

10 Common Habits of Really Organized People.
- Always write things down.
- A pen and a planner allows you to remember all the important things.
- They make schedules and deadlines.
- Organized people don’t waste time. They recognize that keeping things organized goes hand in hand with staying productive.
- Don’t Procrastinate.
- The longer you wait to do something, the more difficult it will be to get done. If you want your life to be less stressful and demanding, then organize as soon as you can. Putting in the effort to get things done will life the weight off of you from doing it later.
- Give everything a home!
- Keeping your life organized means keeping your things in their proper places. Organized people keep order by storing things properly and by labeling storage spaces.
- Declutter Regularly.
- Find time each week to organize. Stuff does not stay organized on its own; it needs to be reorganized continuously and consistently.
- Keep only what you need.
- More stuff becomes more clutter. People who live organized lives only keep what they need and what they really really want.
The Last Thing You Need to Know about getting organized.
- Get yourself a planner! Then start planning every thing. By everything I mean start with your daily to do list of things that have to be done. Then add in a little time to organize and declutter your home and life. I can’t tell you how much I love to “Marie Kondo” my house. I try to do that twice a year. I know, I know, why should I have to do it more than once? Every time I really declutter my house I always feel more organized at life.
